This striking guitar was custom-built for Maybury artist Adam Thorn, showcasing our commitment to sustainability with a design predominantly crafted from reclaimed and recycled materials.
The body is constructed from reclaimed spruce, finished in a charming buttermilk yellow chalk paint, and paired with a refinished 2002 Boston Guitars neck. The neck has been expertly stripped of its polyurethane finish, reshaped at the headstock, fitted with new inlays, and given a complete fret rework, culminating in a beautifully oiled finish.
All hardware is recycled, featuring a vintage Ashtray bridge with brass saddles, Grover locking tuners, and knobs sourced from a vintage 1970s/80s record player.
The pickguard, made from matte black PVC, provides a striking contrast to the yellow chalk paint, creating a classic color combination.
Equipped with Fender MIJ 62 pickups, this guitar delivers the quintessential Tele twang. The electronics and wiring are all new, incorporating CTS pots and an Orange drop capacitor, connected with vintage-style cloth-covered wire. A push-pull feature on the tone pot allows for switching the middle pickup from parallel to series, offering a significant volume boost when needed.
This instrument is a joy to play, producing rich, defined notes with impressive sustain thanks to the spruce body.
