Unveiling a One-of-a-Kind Bass Guitar: The Lzi Hayes Custom Build
Introducing a truly unique bass guitar, crafted for Lzi Hayes, the bassist of “The Hot Damn!”—an all-girl quartet. This stunning instrument features a striking UV custom paint finish, designed to stand out on any stage.
This build was a true collaboration, with Lzi partnering with us from the start to create something more eye-catching than our standard Upscalers. We began with the Maybury Meloca as our foundation, shortening the body and refining the horns for enhanced neck access and a classic aesthetic.
Crafted from reclaimed spruce, the body boasts a one-of-a-kind blue UV-reactive finish topped with a high-gloss lacquer that catches the light beautifully.
The neck, made from off-cuts of wenge from a previous project, features a 34” scale length and oversized 8mm aluminum and resin fret markers, ensuring both style and playability.
Equipped with a chrome Fender high-mass bridge and tuners, this bass also features the impressive “The Bones P Bass” pickup from Mojo Pickups. The electrics include vintage cloth-covered wiring, premium CTS potentiometers, and an Orange drop capacitor.
Lightweight yet robust, this bass offers exceptional sustain thanks to the spruce body, while the Mojo P Bass pickup delivers a punchy tone with remarkable definition. It’s not just an instrument; it’s a statement piece.
