This striking guitar was put together for “Guitarist” Magazine’s issue 504 October2023 and subsequently received the review editors choice in Guitarists 2023 gear of the year issue 506 December 2023

With no specific brief, we took an innovative approach: I engaged my Instagram followers through polls to choose the body color, pickup configuration, and pickguard design for one of our Upscaler guitars.

The result is an instant classic featuring a stunning teal green chalk paint finish, double humbuckers, and a translucent acrylic tortoise shell pickguard.

The body is constructed from two pieces of reclaimed spruce, paired with a refinished 2006 Squier Affinity neck. The maple neck boasts a rosewood fretboard adorned with our signature brass and resin inlays.

All hardware consists of recycled components, including a string-through hardtail bridge with brass saddles, sealed chrome tuners, a Fender Mexican jack socket, and knobs sourced from a vintage 1970s/80s record player.

The pickups come from a 2004 Ibanez SZ520 and have been expertly combined with brand new electronics, featuring Bourns 500K potentiometers and Mallory Yellow capacitors.

The fusion of these diverse elements results in a truly special instrument: a resonant guitar capable of delivering well-defined cleans and vibrant, Les Paul-like rock tones, earning a commendable 9/10 from Guitarist Magazine.
