An original Maybury design, this was the Cholla Offset prototype has a real classic 70s vibe to it!
From its Sunset burst flamed Ash top to the nickel Schaller 70s tuners this guitar exudes an opulence in both colour and material choice.
The body is made from a chambered Sapele one piece blank, which has been married to a beautiful quilted Sapele neck with an Ebony fret board. The brightness of the ebony and Ash work as a compliment to the warmth of the Sapele giving a balanced but rich tone to the guitar.
On the hardware front, the guitar has a nickel Duesenberg Les Trem, that has been paired with a Schaller Roller bridge to give the trem a super smooth action.
The attention to detail continues with a custom copper Switch tip and knobs that are matched to the hand made Fuente Guitars copper covered humbuckers, which were in turn chosen to compliment the brightness of the Sunburst Ash and warmth of colour in the Sapele.
The Fuente pickups have an almost velvety quality to them and whether they are clean or driven provide an amazing rich tone. Carrying on with the electrics, it is loaded with CTS pots and a Mallory yellow cap, which are wired up with vintage braided cable.
The final finishing touches are the custom made Maybury Guitars truss rod cover and neck plate, which continue to elevate this guitar above the rest of the crowd.
