A traditionally shaped T-type with a very modern twist.
The customer wanted a Tele but not a Tele, it had to have that traditional shape and feel but be able to do metal. It needed to be light, have ultra high output, and a skinny neck.
We settled on a chambered light limba body with a bog oak top and a wenge neck with a figured pale moon ebony fretboard
For the pickups we chose a set of Bare Knuckle pickups ‘Silo’ humbuckers. These are Rabea Massaad’s signature pickups, they give glassy, ambient leads and warm, clear chord tones. however they are also able to provide crushingly heavy and aggressive output. The pickups have been direct mounted to the body, giving improved resonance and improved tone.
The neck has a super silky oil finish and has Hipshot tuners which are combined with a hipshot bridge. The guitar has also been setup with 11s and to standard C, giving it that required heavy sound.
